Eagleville Preserve

Many a cool fall morning goes by with each of us doing our normal schedule, whether working or other free time activities. An early rise and visit to the Eagleville section of Mansfield, however, brings you to the Eagleville preserve, with a trail that meanders through the old woods by where the Eagleville mill once stood, then down by the Willimatic River. As you follow the trail, it takes a sharp bend to the left as the river does a turn, and on this cool and damp fall morning, this was the sight before me. The mist rising off the water, old moss covered trees leaning into the river, with the remnants of fall color still there. It reminds me that even in the early morning light of late fall, with minimal, muted color, the beauty of this creation is waiting for us, and we will miss it if we dont take the time to seek it out.
