Bolton Pond, Bolton CT.

Patience does pay off. I had visited this pond and had seen great blue heron flying around all evening, and hoped to get a good view and chance to photograph them closer. After two hours of shooting various photos, I was slowly walking back down the dirt road on my way to the car. Never one to not be looking for more, I walked slowly down the dirt road, and as I neared one section of pond, this great blue heron was perched on a log, and I managed to get setup quickly and take a few photographs before I left. It ended up being my best of the evening.
